Management and Operation of the Vale of Glamorgan Council’s
Sport and Leisure Centres Vale of Glamorgan Council is seeking Expressions of Interest (EOI) from suitable leisure management contractors, including existing Non Profi t Distributing Organisations and private sector operators to enter into a contract to manage, develop and operate the Council’s sports and leisure centres in line with the Council’s strategic objectives for leisure. The Council is seeking an improved revenue position as well as innovative solutions to address the current and future investment requirements. The facilities that are likely to be included in the scope of this procurement are;
● Barry Leisure Centre
● Llantwit Major Leisure Centre ● Barry (Colcot) Sports Centre ● Holm View Leisure Centre
● Penarth Leisure Centre ● Cowbridge Leisure Centre ● Jenner Park Stadium
It is envisaged that the Contract will be for a term of between 10-15 years with a proposed date for the award of Contract in approx June 2011.
In order to be included on the Council’s select list, potential bidders must complete a Pre Qualifi cation Questionnaire and demonstrate a proven successful track record in a variety of areas including delivering innovative partnerships. The successful contractor will then be selected through a formal tender process under EU negotiated procedures.

Redditch Borough Council (the
‘authority’) seeks
expressions of interest from suitably qualified organisations to manage and operate the Arrow Valley Visitor Centre, Battens Drive, Redditch B98 OLJ on a long term contract.
The Visitor Centre is a well used service point for visitors to the central section of the Arrow Valley Country Park close to strong attractors including the lake, walks and the well stocked and maintained play areas. Around 34% of visitors to the Park have come specifically for the visitor centre and café. Recorded visitor numbers to the Centre in 2008/09 were 324,000.
The Centre currently offers a café, reception and information service, a range of events, and a limited meetings facility. The Centre is also the service point for visitors using the lake to fish, the staff issuing day tickets and administering season tickets.
The lower floor and direct lakeside access at the Centre is presently let to a water sports based activity provider to participate in organised water based activities and training courses. More information on the Centre and its activities can be found at – www.
