veryone requires health care services at some point and with social, demo-
graphic and economic changes in our world today there are changes in the healthcare career field as well. Some researchers and professionals
have determined the following career fields are subject to certain changes, which open them up for the possibility of a growth trend: n Nurse staffing. Deep fissures will arise from the debates regarding manda- tory staffing levels. Laws will cause even more shortages. n Healthcare professional shortage. Industry will increase compensation. Pro-active recruitment and promotion of health care careers at higher education institutions will increase. n The baby boomers. Boomers are a major policy concern for long-term care due to their sheer volume and discrimi- nating tastes. Additional research has shown that specific careers will be affected:

thologists and audiologists in 2000 job market was 101,000 and till 2010 it is ex- pected to see 40% growth in the employ- ment which is faster than the average growth in the careers of speech related health care.
