SBA Offers Online Training Course: ‘How to Win Federal Contracts’

he U.S. Small Business Administra- tion offers an online training course to


help strengthen access to contracting op- portunities for small businesses, including those owned by women, minorities, dis- advantaged individuals and veterans. The training course, “Recovery Act Opportunities: How to Win Federal Con- tracts,” is part of a federal government- wide initiative announced by President Obama and being led by SBA and the De- partment of Commerce. “Government contracts can play a key


role in helping small businesses turn the corner in terms of expansion and job cre- ation,” SBA Administrator Karen G. Mills said. “But make no mistake, the benefits the government receives are equally as impressive – working with small busi- nesses allows the federal government to work with some of the most innovative companies in America, often with direct contact with the CEO.” “The SBA online training course can

As part of the outreach to small busi-

viding AT&T with better products, superior services, enhanced cost structures or best-in-class approaches that contributed to the company’s success during the past year. AT&T uses more than 5,000 companies as major suppliers for materials and ser-


vices. As part of the annual program, the company took out a half-page ad in today’s edition of The Wall Street Journal to publicly thank the selected companies.

course is available on SBA’s Web site at www.sba.gov or directly at www.sba.gov/ fedcontractingtraining. The course is in- dexed by subject matter to allow ease of use, and it includes multiple direct links to additional contracting resources. The Recovery Act Opportunities


course includes direct links that highlight the best contracting resources and engag- es small business owners in the contract- ing process. The course also includes practical and fundamental steps to engage business owners in the federal contracting arena. It is one of more than 24 online tutorials offered by the SBA, and is avail- able 24/7.
