Freedom Fund Dinner

2010 Spring Institute and Revival

Church 2010 Spring Institute and Revival will take place April 12-15,

beginning at 6

p.m. Liberty Temple, located at 17188 Greenfield Rd., has more than 2,000 members. The Rev. Dr. Steve Bland Jr. is the senior pastor.

The guest lecturer and re-

vivalist for this four-day event is Rev. Dr. Kevin Cosby, senior pastor of St. Stephen Church in Louisville, Kentucky. Dr. Cosby is the author of five highly acclaimed books and has served as senior pastor of St. Stephen Church since 1979. As a result of his prac- tical and dynamic Bible teach- ings, Dr. Cosby’s church has grown from 500 to approxi- mately 10,000 members and is recognized by Outreach maga- zine as one of the top 100 larg- est churches in America and Emerge magazine named it one of the six super churches of the South. It is the largest Black Baptist fellowship in Kentucky.

“Moving My Church to the Next Dimension,” will be taught by Dr. Kevin Cosby, followed by anointed singing and preach- ing at the revival services starting at 7:30 p.m.

will start with dinner at 5 p.m.; Institute Classes at 6 p.m. with age appropriate topics for chil- dren, pre-school, primary and junior ages; topics for youth with classes for ages 13-18 and topics for adults.

Church is a Christ-Centered Bible believing fellowship and all are welcome. If you can’t attend the Spring Institute and Revival, you may visit the church on Sundays for wor- ship services, which are held at 7:45 a.m. and 10:45 a.m. Every fifth Sunday is “Pack the Pews” Sunday with one service held at 10 a.m. The pastor’s midweek Bible class is from 6:30 to 7 p.m. with praise, worship and testimo- ny. Bible study is held from 7:05 to 8:30 p.m.

Imperial Commandress Charlsena H. Smith being honored

Commencing the weekend

of April 9 at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Romulus, nobles, daughters, family and friends will travel from all over the world to pay tribute and honor Dt. Charlesena H. Smith, 42nd imperial commandress of the Imperial Court, Daughters of Isis.

In addition to numerous

events planned, a testimonial on Saturday evening will con- clude the charitable weekend honoring Dt. Smith.

A native of Toledo, and

member of Mecca Court #73, Daughters of Isis for more than 30 years, Dt. Smith became the 42nd imperial commandress on Aug. 20, 2009 in Atlanta, Ga.

During her tenure as im-

perial commandress, she will be responsible for lead- ing the membership of more than 10,000 women called the Daughters of Isis.

The Imperial Court, Daugh-

ters of Isis, an auxiliary of female members of Prince Hall Shriners, was formally orga- nized on Aug. 24, 1910. The Daughters of Isis is a frater- nal, charitable and benevolent organization, and with her theme “Giving with commit- ment, unity, loyalty and love,” the imperial commandress will make presentations to several charitable associations, one being the Sydney Lynn Welch Cancer Foundation.

Mrs. Smith is an active

member of Mount Pilgrim Bap- tist Church, working with the Power Point Ministry.

System after 43 years of ser- vice as support coordinator for the Nursing Service Office and Staff Development Depart- ment.
