students with the opportunity to spend a week in Raleigh and learn about state government.

Last year, more than 370 students from over 60 counties participated in the program. Each week, up to 13 pages are
assigned to a government agency to assist employees in day-to-day operations, such as filing documents, assisting with
mass mailings, answering telephones and delivering mail. Pages have the opportunity to attend press conferences, meet
with Gov. Bev Perdue, participate in community service activities and tour historic landmarks.
The program is open to high school students between the ages of 15 and 18 who are in good academic standing at their
schools. An application, two recommendations and an official school transcript must be submitted for consideration. For
