Pat “Mimi” Cooper turned 101 years old Friday (Nov. 13). She moved to Weaverville in 1969 with
her husband and lived in the space that currently houses The Secret Garden Inn & Spa. She has
two children, six grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. About
25 family members gathered for a birthday party Sunday (Nov. 15). Her secret to longevity? “I’m
not ready to die,” she said.
