How does it feel to be the new Project Green
Search “It Girl?”
“It’s pretty amazing. I feel grateful and geared
up to make the most of it.”
How has your life changed since winning Project
Green Search contest?
“My community of friends and activists has ex-
panded and deepened in amazing ways. I’m
also having to practice what I preach about liv-
ing a full, yet balanced life on a whole new
level!”
Tell me a little bit about Project Green search
and what initially attracted you to the contest.
“project Green search is a newly created na-
tional contest that was organized by a team of
environmentalists and green entrepreneurs. The
title embodies being an advocate for the envi-
ronment, holistic and healthy living, animal wel-
fare, and social justice. I was attracted to the
competition because of the people involved
with it and because, like so many activists, I am
deeply passionate about educating and inspir-
ing as many people as possible. I saw the po-
tential in pGS and how it could give me a
stronger voice.”
How long have you been green?
“My parents taught us to recycle when we were
really young and I always loved it. I also first be-
gan exploring vegetarianism when I was about
12. I was a total nature kid and it really horrified
me that rain forests were being clear-cut so we
could eat more burgers. In fact, by the time I
was ASB president in 8th grade, I was organizing
presentations of The Giving Tree and The Lorax
for assemblies and planting trees and wild flow-
ers on the school campus.”
