Returning to King; Fulfilling the Mission
Your Alumni Executive Board (AEB) was busy during a robot to make a peanut butter and jelly sandwich
the weekend of our Fall Meeting. Community Service as one might think and the students were soon fully
was first on our agenda as we returned to the Martin engaged in the task.
Luther King Elementary
School for Science and
Technology to work with
the students.
Our goal this year
was to teach the chil-
dren about computer
programming using the
‘simple’ task of making
a peanut butter and jelly
sandwich. Our own Dr.
Mike served as the activi-
ty facilitator and engaged
the students prior to
starting the session.
You could tell that
the students thought this
would be a trivial activity
and they would be fin-
ished with it quickly. Well
it isn’t as easy to teach
