Pastoral Care
Dining
Mealtimes provide an opportunity for everyone,
staff, boarders and day pupils from all houses to
come together and catch up with each other in the
Barraclough, the School’s dining hall. In this relaxed
environment, seating around a quarter of the School
at a time, the pupils benefit from consistently
excellent catering and a wider daily choice of
healthy, balanced and varied menus than would be
possible with single-house catering. In addition, the
cricket pavilion ‘Stumps’ provides an informal
meeting place for post-match snacks or coffee
with friends.
Uniform
All pupils must wear the School uniform, which
is kept as simple as possible, until the end of the
Sixth Form year. Boarders may wear casual clothes
after school hours. A dress code replaces School
uniform for our pupils’ final year. Full details are
listed on the School website - see Contact Us -
School Shop. The School Shop (and Second Hand
Shop) can advise and supply all requirements.
Rules and Expectations
The School ‘Rules and Expectations’ establish the
framework through which pupils grow into
adulthood. They are based on principles of respect
for each other and for the community as well as
for the good of the individual.
