EAT THiS
Geisha House – 6633 Hollywood Blvd.
The upscale eatery Geisha House describes its atmosphere as “sensual,
ethereal and mysterious,” while it beckons diners with promises of a sexy eating
out experience that engages all senses. Color me intrigued. The establishment,
located at 6633 Hollywood Blvd, embraces Japan’s rich sexual history and is
housed in a high class brothel setting.
Traditional Japanese cuisine gets a contemporary makeover and takes a cue
from sake bars and Geisha Houses of entertainment from its native country.
The wait staff’s dress code is representative of the modern-day, high-cultured
karyūkai, which means “the flower and willow world.”
The menu includes the not-so-typical sushi and sashimi items with names
like Geisha Lips, Octopussy and The Cowboy, which appropriately has a filet of
beef as one of its ingredients. Even the cold dishes sound hot—anyone care for
an Oyster Shooter? Surprisingly, the Miso soups are not followed by the word
horny. Customers are sure to leave satiated and satisfied, but not too spent, as

the prices are reasonable.
P!nk – Staples Center
Ladies and gentlemen, step right up for an evening of musical thrills and chills
all performed by a female blonde singer …oh wait, Britney Spears isn’t perform-
ing her “Circus Tour” on September 18 at the Staples Center.
It’s P!nk bringing her “Funhouse Tour” into L.A. for a whistle stop, and she has
been known to perform Cirque du Soleil-type acrobatics during her shows, so
it’s an easy enough mistake to make. What makes P!nk unmistakable (or even
missundaztood) though are her balls-to-the-wall anthems like “U + Ur Hand”
and “So What” and you know she will, ahem, “Get The Party Started” as soon as
she sets foot on stage. The Ting Tings are her special special guests guests.

Tarfest
Looking for a day—or three—dedicated to arts and culture? Of course, you do!
TarFest, which celebrates the worlds of film, music and art, will be held on Septem-
ber 25, 26 and 27 along the one-mile stretch of road known as the Miracle Mile,
a.k.a. Wilshire Boulevard between Sycamore Avenue and Fairfax Avenue. Many of
the nation’s finest artists and performers, well over 150 of them, will be on hand
to highlight their talents. An estimated 5,000 Angelenos are expected to attend
the festivities, which include screenings of five-minute short films entered by area
filmmakers, local musical acts and a 5K and one-mile run.
