and salads creating a wonderful party atmosphere in the
street. There were games for the children and a visit from a fire brigade tender during
the sunny afternoon. The street sat down along the traditional tressel tables that run up
Beechill Road replacing the usual motor car.
A feature of the afternoon was a presentation by Rachel Hall the organiser of the day to
the oldest resident Mrs Adelaide Bayes who has lived in the road for 77 years. (picture
