Over Memorial Day weekend, 42 riders
braved mud for english riding and cross-country
jump course competition at Lone Star Stables,
Abilene. Longtime trainer Ingar Svalling was
pleased with the show and said she plans to do an-
other such event, probably in October. Division
award winners included Savanna Day (beg-nov-
sr-rider, intro-level-B-sr-rider), Mary Pate (level-
A-jr-rider), and Nicole Epper (level-B-jr-rider).
At Oklahoma QHA’s annual Redbud Spec-
tacular, held May 30-June 7 at the Oklahoma
State Fairgrounds, the new facilities proved to
work well, and big classes offered deep competi-
tion. Sadly, a rash of vehicle burglaries spoiled the
week for some folks.
