Explorer Tickets.
The Explorer Ticket permits travel on buses of several local bus operators and was originally designed by National Bus Company as a
“scratch-off” card so that the user could validate the date of travel him- or herself. This type of ticket has become less popular recently,
and a modern electronic ticket machine can be programmed to issue a suitable alternative.
Due to the handling cost of the “scratch-off” Explorer Ticket, First Hampshire & Dorset announced that it will only be available from
offices until 30/11/08 and must be used by 31/12/08. The alternative variety issued on a bus from a ticket machine will still be available
and valid on date of issue beyond those dates.

C.D. JORDAN & SON LTD, PORTSMOUTH, HAMPSHIRE.
C.D. Jordan & Son Ltd. was a long established breaker and scrap metal dealer in Portsmouth. Various City of Portsmouth Passenger
Transport Department trolleybuses were dismantled by Jordan at their site in Locksway Road, Milton. They also dealt with motorbuses
although the hulks of them were sold on to Hants & Sussex Marine Salvage & Aviation Scrap Ltd., another Portsmouth dealer and breaker.
Jordan moved to Dundas Spur, Hilsea, in May 1963 when the Locksway Road site was cleared for a housing development. In more recent
years Jordan scrapped some Ivecos made redundant by First Hampshire & Dorset Ltd.
