ll-inclusive holidays to Turkey are
set to be one of this summer’s top
sellers. Yet despite the appeal of
all-inclusive arrangements to
budget-conscious clients, other types of
accommodation in Turkey should not be
ruled out. Sterling remains relatively strong
against the Turkish lira, which makes eating
out and other expenses in resort good value.
A recent survey by the Post Office shows
to suit
that of all short-haul beach destinations,
tourists’ holiday spending money is likely
to go furthest in Turkey. For example, a
“basket” of items – including essentials
from a supermarket and an evening meal
for two– costs £52.32, compared with
£52.52 in Bulgaria, £61.58 in Croatia and
yourself
£64.18 in Spain.
Some operators are concerned that agents
may be recommending all-inclusive deals in
Turkey too readily, without weighing up the
pros and cons of other holiday arrangements
in the country.

The popularity of non-eurozone Turkey has rocketed in
