attending, apply as soon as possible. Special consideration will be given to
multiple math/science teachers from the same school.

Objectives Enhance understanding and teaching of statistics within the math/science
curriculum based on conceptual understanding, active learning, real-world
data, and appropriate technology

Content Teachers will explore problems that require them to collect, organize, analyze,

and draw conclusions from data and apply basic concepts of probability. The
MWM program will include examining what students can be expected to do at
the most basic level of understanding and what can be expected from them as

their skill levels develop and their experiences broaden. Consistent with GAISE
recommendations and NCTM Principles and Standards for School Mathematics.
Format Monday: K–4 and 9–12 sessions
Tuesday: 5–8 session

Lunch with local ASA chapter members and Monday dinner with career
panel discussion

Optional activities at JSM (statistics education sessions, poster sessions,
JSM exhibit hall)
