EVENT PREVIEW PHOTONEX & VISION UK
PHOTONEX 2016 & VISION UK THE TECHNOLOGY OF LIGHT
Photonex is the UK’s largest showcase event dedicated to photonics and light technologies which takes place on 12th & 13th October at the Ricoh Arena, Coventry and incorporates Vision UK, the leading vision and imaging technologies event for research, science, industry and factory automation
P
hotonex is the UK’s largest showcase event dedicated to photonics and
light technologies. It brings together all aspects of industry and research, helping develop strong business relationships, to research solutions, to examine applications for photonics and technology for manufacturing. Based at the Ricoh Arena in Coventry,
which has been made even more convenient for visitors this year thanks to the opening of a new rail station, ‘Coventry Arena’, the event provides experts and professionals in the field the unique opportunity to meet with suppliers across the spectrum of photonics. Photonex offers you the chance to
meet face-to-face and develop personal, direct relationships with your suppliers.
DISCOVER THE DIFFERENCE On the internet one product can seem just like another. But it is getting down to the in-depth detail face-to-face with a specialist which will enable you to make a better informed purchasing decision. Fed up with poor communications, poor
delivery, poor products? At Photonex you will be able to meet with a new supplier. You will also be able to solve your
photonics problem whatever your specific needs might be. And learn by attending talks in a wide
range of free presentations, free meetings, free conferences, training courses and ‘how-to-do-it’ type tutorials to further your professional development. Every day, photonics finds ever more
uses in research, industry and the consumer environment. Photonics technologies are of increasing importance to scientific research and for industry. Its use is growing, as is the Photonex exhibition.
VISION UK The Vision UK showcase, annually held and sharing the exhibition hall with
/AUTOMATION
Photonex 2016, is dedicated to vision/imaging and laser technology for research, science, industry and factory automation. It will also be held on 12 and 13 October at the Ricoh Arena, Coventry. Vision UK includes the majority of the
UK suppliers of components, instruments, systems and software for vision and imaging technology for research, science, industry and factory automation. The organisers are emphasising how this is an event where you can solve your industrial vision problems and learn how to utilise vision in your factory. Amongst the exhibitors there is someone to answer any vision, sensing, remote sensing or light based technology question relating to your process or your production line. Great components and effective system
integration are essential to the development of a successful vision system for your process. Vision UK provides you with the opportunity to meet top suppliers that can help design your systems. They can introduce you to technologies that can automate parts of your production line to improve the reliability and performance of your production process. There will also be a number of
companies showing their approach to IR imaging for inspection and for defence applications. Industrial applications include examples such as unwanted hot
Photonex brings together all aspects of research and industry, enabling you to network and meet with industry suppliers, discover solutions, to examine new and established applications, touch and feel new instruments and see light technologies for manufacturing
spots and predictive maintenance. A new feature this year is dedicated to direct part marking. The UKIVA (UK Industrial Vision
Association) underpins Vision UK with a strong technical and application orientated programme ‘Industrial Vision Works! – techniques and the application of imaging technologies’. Learn how to adopt industrial vision solutions for your process – increase reliability and product quality at this day-long meeting. There will be two keynote
presentations, the first from Jason Gow, Centre for Electronic Imaging, The Open University. His talk is entitled: The Challenges Associated with Imaging Technology in Space’. The second keynote will be given by Dr Stuart Green, an industrial technical manager and amateur astronomer’s talk is entitled: ‘Machine Vision Cameras for Solar Imaging’
Photonex will offer visitors the chance to handle, touch and feel equipment, instruments, components and watch demonstrations
ENLIGHTEN CONFERENCE PRESENTS: OPTICAL ENGINEERING & DESIGN This meeting is an unmissable opportunity to hear directly from software providers who operate in this area of expertise. Attend to understand their thought process as they strive to push the boundaries of optical engineering and design. Their presentations are complemented by talks on other topical and new groundbreaking applications in photonics and light technologies. This event is part of the Enlighten
Conference. These free events cover application and technology advances, innovations and emerging technologies, comprising of two and one-day meetings, seminar programmes and educational tutorials. Visit the event websites and register to attend. Also register to receive e-newsletter updates and to find out more about the VISION UK event.
