CroisiEurope plans Africa sailings and buys two lodges
River cruise line CroisiEurope has unveiled plans to launch its first vessel in Africa. The new ship, which is yet to be named, will begin sailing next year and will offer six-day itineraries on the Chobe and Zambezi rivers. The line is also buying two five-star lodges so it can offer four-day post-cruise add-ons that will include a safari and a day at Victoria Falls.

Tauck christens new river ship Grace in Maastricht
Tauck has christened and launched river vessel Grace. The 130-passenger ship, which was christened in Maastricht, the Netherlands, will sail on the Rhine and Moselle rivers. Sister ship Joy will launch in June.

Saga introduces cruise for solo travellers on the Rhine
Saga has introduced its first river cruise dedicated to solo travellers. The seven-night sailing along the Rhine on Arlene leads in at £999 and departs on October 14. The price includes coach travel from Folkestone, Kent.

Princess Cruises extends its Japan season for 2017

Princess Cruises is to operate its longest-ever Japan cruise season in 2017.
Sailings will run between April
and November and will range from five to 17 nights. The 2,700-passenger Diamond
Princess will sail on 39 departures, featuring ports of call in Japan as well as in countries including South Korea, Taiwan, Russia, Hong Kong and Vietnam, among others. This year, Princess is offering 37
Japan sailings, up from 20 in 2015. The line said the increase next
year was due to demand, with Asia now being the second most-popular destination for Princess Cruises’ UK customers after Europe.
