Simon Jersey secures global design contract with ISS U

the contract to supply the uniform of global facilities company ISS. Simon Jersey has designed

an entirely new range which is set to be rolled out to more than half a million ISS staff across the globe over the next 18 months. The company was awarded

with the contract after demonstrating its innovative design approach and operational capacity to manage a complex, multi-national rollout. It has taken nearly a year of

planning and design work with Copenhagen-based ISS to create the uniform of more than 100 garments for job roles varying from front-of-house to

caterers and housekeeping staff. The process included consultation with ISS staff on their preferred fabrics and styles as well as wearer trials across Europe. The final uniform was

unveiled to senior ISS staff members at a fashion show organised by Simon Jersey in Paris last year and the process of rolling out the uniform began back in November. James Saunders, managing

director for Simon Jersey, said: “This is a hugely important contract for us to have won and a great recognition of our design, manufacturing and operational capabilities. We are well used to dealing with complex rollouts for multinational organisations and the contract with ISS is one of our biggest ever briefs.

“Our in-house designers have worked hard to create a uniform that unites the many different job roles within ISS and helps to enhance their brand. We’re very pleased with the feedback we’ve had so far and look forward to working with the team over the coming years.” Nicolai Birch, regional

procurement director for ISS, said: “The new workwear provides great fit, functionality, quality and above all, ensures a sense of pride and belonging amongst our employees. “It is a stamp of our culture,

brand and professionalism and in essence, underlines our one brand, one company, one culture mentality. At the same time, we have a strong focus to consolidate to a few preferred suppliers, which enables us to

with Simon Jersey over the contract period as one of the valued and preferred suppliers.”

Technifor announces the release of the 3D stylus Compatible with the entire

echnifor has unveiled a very high amplitude 3D stylus capable of

following the relief of every part to be marked. Users of the 3D can stylus

can perform a succession of markings irrespective of the shape of each workpiece. Sloping planes, out-of-flat surfaces, deformed surfaces, the stylus tip extends and retracts automatically as it follows the relief with the utmost precision. The stylus covers

differences in height. With an amplitude of 16mm, the 3D stylus makes it possible to perform stepped markings, on different levels of the same workpiece – and in a single cycle. With no need for an actuator, without moving the marking head, it enables engraving in recesses, hollows and difficult-to-reach places. And the stylus allows for

marking on cylindrical workpieces. Marking multiple lines following the curve of the workpiece, it is now possible to eliminate the additional cost of installing a part rotation system.

Technifor range of pneumatic machines, this 3D stylus offers a new dimension to integrators and end-customers. On automated lines the

stylus can handle a succession of parts of varying heights. There is no more need for complex programming or a costly Z axis on the marking head. The machine absorbs height differences instantly. For manual or semi-automatic

production operations, the task of adjustment is simplified: a single marking file for a multitude of parts. The stylus offers superior

marking results: the quality of Data MatrixT codes is very close to the results obtained with electromagnetic technology, with a homogeneity and perfect alignment of points which simplifies code

reading enormously. Broadening access to

automatic marking even further, with this innovation Technifor has developed a cutting-edge tool that is an efficient response to the ever-increasing demands of traceability.
