Domaine Drouhin Oregon
Still a relatively young winegrowing region, Oregon has established an international reputation as a source for insiders’ wines. Sommeliers, collectors, and bon vivants seek out these special bottles, which benefit from the very rare cool climate conditions that a great Pinot Noir requires. In 1987, Robert Drouhin (Maison Joseph Drouhin) became the first Burgundian to establish a domaine in the New World when he purchased land in the Dundee Hills, 30 miles south of Portland, Oregon. Considered a foundational moment for the Oregon wine industry, the Drouhin arrival in Oregon was seen as a validation of the pioneers who had started planting in the mid-1960s, when there was little more than a belief that one day something wonderful would happen.

Today, Domaine Drouhin Oregon is considered a benchmark for Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, in Oregon and beyond.
Winemaker Véronique Drouhin and her brother, viticulturalist Philippe Drouhin, are guided by a lifetime of experience in Burgundy’s best vineyards, as they work to craft wine that is true to their estate in the Dundee Hills. Look for Domaine Drouhin's Dundee Hills estate Pinot Noir, Chardonnay Arthur (named for Véronique’s son) and Laurène Pinot Noir (named for her elder daughter).
Looking ahead, the Drouhin Family purchased the magnificent Roserock vineyard in the Eola-Amity Hills AVA, near Salem, Oregon, and
will soon release wines from the property. Wine lovers, who have come to trust the Drouhins, have a lot to look forward to. For guests wanting to visit for a tour or a tasting, the beautifully appointed Tasting Room and expansive terrace are open Wednesday through Sunday, from 11am to 4pm. Picnics are welcomed on the outside terrace during the week, with advance notice.
