Admirers of Impressionistic painters, the Grayson’s were first attracted to

Flohr’s work for the similarity. The pair began their collection by acquiring fine art limited editions but soon switched over to purchasing originals, noting that since they have made the switch, they can’t go back.

Not only are the Grayson’s aficionados for collecting art, the pair has often lent their hand at participating in art culture as well, starring in off-Broadway renditions of Les Misérables, A Streetcar Named Desire, and Requiem for Heavyweights.

What started as a blind date with an ophthalmologist some twenty odd years

ago has come into full focus for Don, Jo, and their five combined children. In between traveling, collecting art, and visiting their now adult children, the two stay busy yet always find time to stay true to their passions. “We’re patrons of the arts — that’s where our passion and our love is.”

“Tese are the only animal sculptures that I have seen that really seem alive. Tey seemed like they could just get up and keep walking. I just really love them. Everywhere we go, I always say I’m not going to buy another, and then I end up buying another.” Don Grayson
