20 QUESTIONS WITH... Erin Clodgo
Erin Clodgo is one of the top women’s freestyle wrestlers in the United States.
Clodgo made her first U.S. Senior World Team in women’s freestyle wrestling in 2015. The Vermont native competes at 63 kg/138.75 lbs.
Clodgo took time out of her busy schedule to answer 20 Questions for USA Wrestler: 1. Favorite movie?
Not sure of my all-time favorite, but I would say mostly all scary movies.
2. Favorite TV show? The Office, and Rick and Morty.
3. What do you listen to before you compete? I used to listen to all different types of music before I would wrestle to pump me up, but now I like to talk to people or warm up quietly on my own.
4. Favorite food when not watching your weight? Steak and ice cream.
5. Favorite sport other than wrestling? Mixed martial arts.
6. Favorite athlete to watch in another sport? I can’t say for sure who my favorite athlete is to watch, but watching any great athlete do what they are best at is always refreshing.
7. Favorite wrestler and why?
Dan Gable, for sure. He is a living legend of wrestling at its finest. He is a great man - very nice and respectful. He is such a great role model for every other wrestler to look up to. 8. Best piece of advice you've received? Be brave.
9. What kind of advice would you give a young wrestler? Wanting to make something out of youself from wrestling is a challenge and takes serious dedication, but I love my job/career and everything that I get to do. Wrestling has so much to offer. 10. Best moment as a wrestler so far?
Looking back on everything I have done, I am proud of what I chose to do with wrestling. It’s amazing. 11. Name three people you would love to invite to dinner? My parents, for sure, and everyone else in my family. 12. What is one thing you are afraid of? Hairy centipedes
13. How did you become involved in wrestling? I became involved with wrestling when I was in seventh grade. I punched a kid at recess because he threw a ball at me and the principal said I needed to join a sport. 14. How were you able to adjust to the Senior level? I think fairly well considering I started competing at the Senior level when I was still a Junior. 15. Any idea what you will do when you stop competing? Yes, I would love to go back to school and work in a bakery. 16. What is the best part about training in Colorado
Springs? It’s ground zero. There are always wrestlers here, camps going on, and the headquarters is so close by. 17. What are your goals for international wrestling? To be an Olympic champion.

have enjoyed such different things from them all. I couldn’t say for sure
19. What do you like about the international style of wrestling? It’s a lot more exciting then regular folkstyle wrestling with big- ger amplitude moves.
20. Funniest girl on the team and why? It’s a tough call. I would definitely say Alyssa Lampe and Brittney Roberts. You wouldn’t guess it unless you knew them, but when they get going, it turns into a cute competition on whose voice gets higher.
