news Aegion wins $32m coating contracts
US-based Aegion announced that its Corrosion Protection platform businesses have secured three new contracts for pipeline coating with a combined value of around $32m.

has won a contract in the Caspian Sea to apply external fi eld coatings for a 300-mile onshore natural gas pipeline expansion. The project is expected to begin in late 2015 and be completed by the end of 2017.
Meanwhile, Aegion’s Bayou Companies subsidary has secured two pipe coating contracts for completion at its facility in Louisiana, US. The fi rst comprises the application of a multi-layer corrosion
applied onsite by Bayou Wasco Insulation, a joint venture between Aegion and Malay- sian-based Wasco Energy. The project will be completed in early 2016. The second project consists

AW Chesterton buys Ceramic Polymer
US-based AW Chesterton has acquired German specialist anti-corrosion coatings maker Ceramic Polymer and sister company Ultra Perform Coatings. Chesterton already owns
ARC Effi ciency & Protective Coatings, which manufactures chemical, abrasion and corrosion resistant coatings in the US. The acquisition of Ceramic Polymer extends the group’s capabilities to include coatings for large scale applications such as storage tanks, offshore structures and pipelines and gives Chesterton a coatings production base in Europe.

expects to benefi t from Ceramic Polymer’s access to the markets of China, Japan and South East Asia, while it sees good opportunities for the Ceramic Polymer product lines in North and South America. The German company will
continue to use the Ceramic Polymer name. AW Chesterton is a leading

to an improved backlog of pipeline coating projects in the Gulf Coast region of the United States,” said Greta Voss, President of Aegion’s Corro- sion Protection platform. Aegion posted a 4.4% increase in revenues for Q2 2015 to $337m. Revenues for the fi rst six months were up by 2.7% to $646m while order backlog was down by 8% to $760m. “Our second quarter 2015 fi nancial results demon- strate Aegion’s diversifi ed businesses can generate strong results even when our upstream energy business is under pressure this year from lower oil prices,” said Charles R Gordon, Aegion’s President and Chief Executive Offi cer.
