xciting collections, trend information, the Festival for Shoes and Accessories and


fresh impulses galore – this is what GDS – Global Destination for Shoes & Accessories offers at its next summer edition from 29 to 31 July 2015 in Düsseldorf.


The GDS Lifestyle Worlds The STUDIO area awaits trade show visitors with new high-end collections such as Iceberg from Italy, Mer du Sud from Spain or Intramontabile from Germany. APICCAPS again presents a selection of young, promising designers from Portugal as part of its “Portuguese Young Talents” scheme. After the successful debut in February 2015 there will also be a “comeback” of the twenty international Design Trendsetters. This time they will bring their new 2016 summer collections. April already saw a pop-up shop open at the Breuninger department store at Düsseldorf’s Kö-Bogen where collections by Design Trendsetters like Laurence Dacade, Alain Tondowski, the Duo Christina Martini and Nikolas Minoglou (Ancient Greek Sandals) and Charline de Luca could be purchased.


The POP UP Area has found a new home in Hall


10 thereby moving closer to the trade show action again. Housed until now in Hall 9 the catwalk will also be back in Hall 10 again in July. The scene area RICHTIG WICHTIG will also move to Hall 10 to celebrate its second edition. After paying tribute to Paris this area will be “very British” this time: London calling is the motto for the new season.


In HIGHSTREET the Concept Area in Hall 5 has


been expanded. Here, Italy’s bag label Aurora Prestige and men’s shoe manufacturer I Maschi Gold will be presented for the first time, to name but two newcomers. Furthermore, Polish designers will be exhibiting their collections here. These were selected in cooperation with the fashion trade fair HUSH Warsaw, which particularly promotes young designers from Poland. Under the patronage of the Polish Institute of Düsseldorf and Promotion of Polish Trade and Investment Department in Cologne, brands like Nowinska, Goshico, Mako, Mumu, Baldowski and Loft37 will be shown at GDS.

And there will also be additions to the kids’


area in Hall 4: Lurchi will be represented here for the first time. With its foot on the accelerator will be Lamborghini showing its children’s collection at GDS for the first time. Other first-time exhibitors include Balducci from Italy, Red Rag Develab from the Netherlands and KEA from Brazil.


Trends @ GDS The Highlight Route running through the three GDS Lifestyle Worlds doubles as a stage for special product stagings and events. The catwalk in Hall 10 will host fashion shows and serve as a stage for innovations from individual brands. Add to this the STUDIO Show featuring current trends from the Premium segment.


The Trend Spots in Hall 5 have been grouped


into a separate area providing important information on seasonal trends for S/S 2016. Here trends are featured in an atmospheric setting that strikingly illustrates design objects and colours in distinct visualisations. The Forum Touch is a contact point for visitors to both see and touch seasonal as well as cross-seasonal innovations and materials. Here all types of material categories such as leather and textiles can be researched. The Forum is an information pool for textures and surfaces.


PR Highlights During the Press Walk on the first day of the trade fair exhibitors can present themselves on the GDS stage. During this guided walk on the morning of 29 July journalists will be introduced to highlights by selected exhibitors presented and staged in various formats. For fashion editors there will be a special Sample Map and for stylists a specific hall plan so they can order press samples for their editorial shoots.


Exciting Activities for Fashion Bloggers Furthermore, the trade show will also dedicate a whole day to the numerous fashion bloggers. In cooperation with online fashion magazine styleranking the forthcoming GDS will provide an exciting programme: centre stage on Friday will


be the FashionBloggerCafé Shoedition. This spin- off of Germany’s biggest bloggers’ networking event FashionBloggerCafé will be making a stopover at the trade show for the third time now; a minimum of 150 up-and-coming multipliers are expected to attend. Other activities are also in the pipeline including the Blogger-Runway-Show. Here fashion bloggers – like the new blogger providing testimonials for GDS – will style the models.


“Düsseldorf Fashion Sourcing” at tag it! Held in parallel with GDS is tag it! – The Private Label Show. Chinatex Advertising & Exhibition (CTEC) will organise a trade show revolving around fashion sourcing for the first time now – to be held concurrently with the forthcoming tag it! from 29 to 31 July 2015. While tag it! focuses on the area of Private Label in the footwear segment and accessories, Düsseldorf Fashion Sourcing (DFS) is a new offering specifically for fashion sourcing. DFS is organised by Chinatex Advertising & Exhibition (CTEC) and will be held as part of tag it! for the first time now. On display will be approx. 100 selected producers and suppliers for garments and textiles. By presenting these additional ranges tag it! is responding the growing demands voiced by many visitors and now also addressing fashion buyers from wholesale operations and major buying organisations.


The OUT OF THE BOX Festival enters its second Round On Friday, 31 July 2015, that time will have come round again: come on in – the fascinating and colourful world of shoes and accessories is awaiting you! On the last day of GDS the trade show will be celebrating the OUT OF THE BOX Festival for Shoes & Accessories. “Shoe addicts” can look forward to exciting events “in the public sphere” in the Düsseldorf city centre. Add to this special activities in selected stores that involve consumers in the “shoe action”.
