Skyliners, Lexettes place in top 10 at World Junior event The Skyliners and the Lexettes fi nished sixth and eighth, respec-
tively, at the 2015 ISU World Junior Synchronized Skating Champion- ships, March 13–14, in Zagreb, Croatia. The competition, which is held every other year, was made up of 24 teams from 19 countries. The Skyliners, the 2015 U.S. champions, sat in fourth place with
53.96 points following the short program. Skating to selections of Af- rican tribal music from Cirque du Soleil, they earned nearly all positive Grades of Execution (GOEs) for their elements. The team generated 98.86 points for its free skate to the musical
Evita. Although the team had a fall in the no hold element, it received credit for three Level 4 elements, including the line, pairs and traveling wheel. The wheel was its highest-scoring element, while interpreta- tion was its highest program component.

in the free skate. They placed seventh overall in 2013. The Lexettes, of the Hayden Recreation Centre FSC, fi nished both segments in eighth place. Their short program, skated to “The World Is Ours” by David Cor-
rey, earned the team 48.42 points. Their short program had two falls in a transition, but included a strong pivoting line and no hold element. Their free skate to My Fair Lady was clean and earned them 98.69
points. The team received a Level 4 element for the line, pair element, traveling wheel and no hold element. The Lexettes also received all positive GOEs. Second after the short program, Finland’s Musketeers overtook Finland’s Team Fintastic to win the event, while third place went to Canada’s Les Supremes.
