Eighty Ice-Capets, dressed in Canadian Mounties costumes, perform in the 1960 show’s finale titled “Salute to the Mounties.” It was a tribute to the male skaters who had been drafted into military service. Colonel Hill of the Northwest Mounted Police trained and supervised the number staged by director Chester Hale. Rose Marie Stewart and Robert Dench were the choreographers.
Above, The great Donna Atwood played Cinderella at the ball in this 1952 Ice Capades production. The number was presented through a special arrangement with Walt Disney. Chester Hale was the choreographer and Billy Livingston served as the costume director. Below, This 1965 photo of the entire cast and crew on the grand-two level stage was taken in Atlantic City, New Jersey, in 1965. It was also the first production under the new ownership of Metromedia.
