FEATURE ConDemNation CONDEM-NA

They’ve hurt us Since the ConDem Coalition came in so much has happened. The blue boxes below catalogue their crimes against the people. They’ve made cut after cut, brought in benefit sanctions, the bedroom tax – they’ve hurt the most vulnerable among us.

They’ve tried to sell off the NHS while running it into the ground. Legal aid has been slashed, university tuition fees trebled. The minimum wage is nowhere near enough to live on yet minimum wage jobs have grown. Zero hours contracts have exploited 1.4m workers who earn £300 a week less than permanent staff. Just one in 40 new jobs is full time.

Public sector pay has fallen. People can’t afford the hike in employment tribunal fees. Payday loaners have cashed in on the misery of millions.

How many reasons are there for not wanting another government like this one?

Unite fights back But throughout the entire duration of this uncaring government, Unite has been at the forefront of defending members against its relentless attacks against workers and against our communities.

As you can see from the red boxes in the diary below Unite has campaigned against wage cuts, pensions cuts, the sell-offs and reorganisations of public services, raising the costs of employment tribunals, payday lenders, zero hours contracts, and austerity measures like the bedroom tax and sanctions.
