Schlanser
As an apprentice to world-renowned glass artist Paul von Domarus, Stephen Schlanser was taught the disciplines and techniques that eventually led him to create his own inspired artwork. After opening his own stained glass shop in 1990, showcasing his first collection of kiln-fired glass, Schlanser has continued to impress and push the envelope of creativity within the glass industry. Pieces like Japanese Maple Vessel and Lord’s Prayer define this craftsmanship and ultimate dedication consistent in Schlanser’s glass works.
Anne Nye
Celebrating the beauty of nature, Anne Nye reflects her love of the world in her artwork. She molds each piece of glass in a kiln using a series of low firings to ensure that not only are her pieces pleasing to the eye, but appealing to the touch. Nye’s artwork is influenced by the many dimensions of nature. These dimensions are reflected in the textures of her finished product. “As I create, I find myself reopening an old awareness deeply rooted in childhood, but nearly buried by our busy technological world. My hope is that this work might cause the observer to see nature and glass in a new way.”
David Wight By shaping molten glass to ensure that the incredible
beauty of the ocean is captured, David Wight’s glass waves are awe-inspiring. Flowing with hues of blues and greens, these pieces depict a serene yet powerful creation. A snapshot of time, these calm and relaxing glass sculptures often take on movement once lit. “Amidst the heat and the unexpected, I am constantly challenged by the molten medium of hot glass. With my glass sculptures, I work to freeze a moment in time, to capture the beauty, grace, and power of water in its most dynamic form: The Wave.”
