Remotely controllable solid-state timer relay -T-A Circuit Breakers,
manufacturer of a broad of
quality designer and range
electro-
mechanical and electronic products for circuit protection, has introduced the ETR10 smart power relay, which features both a timer function and electronic overcurrent protection.
The remotely
controllable solid-state timer relay fits a standard 4- pole or 7-pole automotive relay socket for 12V or 24V systems and is capable of switching currents between 1A and 30A. The E-T-A ETR10 Electronic Timer Relay offers programmable timer functions such as a time delay, pulsing or blinking, together with equipment protection in the event of a fault occurring – all in the single component. Status and signal outputs enable remote monitoring. It is remotely resettable after overload tripping if an overload has caused the relay to switch off. Status and signal outputs enable monitoring. It is suitable for on-board electrical systems where magnetic valves, motors or lamps have to be switched and protected.

outputs. Each fused channel can handle up to 7.5A, with a maximum of 40A max for the module. In the event of a fuse being blown a relay is energized and the volt free contacts can be used to signal the problem to the SCADA system or raise a local alarm. The Daito blown fuse gives an indication that it is open circuit, individual Channel fuses purchased separately can be 1A, 1.6A, 2A, 3.2A, 5A or 7.5A. The module can be purchased for use with 110Vac or 12, 24, 48, 110 and 120Vdc power distribution The FSC1114 joins a range of other Colter Products SCADA friendly products signaling fuse status. Visit our website to view our power distribution and relay products. The Supervisory system allows maintenance engineers to be quickly informed of the problem and the location when using the FSC1114.

ockwell Automation today announced it has purchased the assets of ESC Services, Inc., a global hazardous energy control provider of lockout- tagout services and solutions. “ESC Services will enable Rockwell Automation customers to increase asset utilization and strengthen enterprise risk management, while adding safety to our growing portfolio of data- driven, cloud-enabled services,” said Matt Fordenwalt, Rockwell Automation consulting business manager. ESC’s unique methodology utilizes Quick Response (QR) codes that can be scanned to obtain asset information and streamline compliance with both external regulations and internal safety policies. “The global use of lockout-tagout is expanding among multi- national corporations, and represents a great growth opportunity,” said Kelly Michalscheck, president, ESC Services. “This acquisition enables us to extend ESC Services lockout-tagout procedures and ScanESC solutions to tens of thousands of additional OEM machines, delivering more value and unique offerings to Rockwell Automation’s extensive global channels.”

Profiler 2 Keeps a Low Profile for High Quality Inspection
quality 2D resolution performance at a competitive price. “With more than 10 pre- programmed measuring functions like height, width and edge counting in just the one device, the Profiler 2 can save production time through eliminating the need for raw data conversion by other
devices like CPUs in the control loop,
making QC inspection a true real-time function.” The versatile Profiler 2 is ideal for measuring shapes, profiles and object angles, multiple edges,
detecting monitoring gap sizes and
ICK has introduced the Profiler 2, a short range distance sensor for accurate measurement of 2D profiles, shapes and surfaces that combines a high-performance resolution of 2 microns with a wide measurement range. The SICK Profiler 2 delivers plug-and-play performance ideally suited to production line quality inspection programmes in the robotics, industries.
S automotive and electronics Its ability to measure complex profiles
with just one laser line, and analyse up to four areas at once, saves on hardware costs and installation time. “There are many applications where the production engineer doesn’t need full 3D profiling, yet requires more than a single point distance measurement,” says SICK (UK) imaging and measurement systems specialist Neil Sandhu. “The Profiler 2 combines sensor and evaluation in a single, easy to mount unit, without the need for an amplifier, monitor or another device needing additional cabling. It can therefore deliver top
measuring the width and thickness of components. Examples include checking the heights and lengths of geometries in assembled PCBs, or inspecting multiple edges and door gaps in automotive manufacture. The SICK Profiler 2 scans a 32mm wide field from a range of up to 125mm high, assessing complex profiles over up to four areas at once with just one laser line, and with high reliability regardless of colour or shape. The software ensures the on-board LC display provides easy to see measurement status as well as outputting to factory control via the RS485 interface. The colour display and easy input controls, with the free software program, provides rapid set-up and intuitive on-the-spot or remote commissioning, or reset and overrides when required. Cabling is simple and the compact 40mm by 60mm by 95mm (wxhxl) unit will fit into tight spaces.

Partitioning to Kodak E
to potential
arlier this year Troax Lee Manufacturing Ltd. were approached by Avanta UK, and their client
Kodak - a world leading manufacturer of lithographic printing plates - in Morley, Leeds to work with their project engineers to design, supply and install suitable enclosures to house specific machinery within their premises. The purpose of the project was to create enclosures to house a number of production machines to reduce equipment and material exposure
airborne
contaminants, as the materials produced within the enclosures need to be manufactured in a very sensitive and controlled environment. After initial discussions and a handful of design meetings and a visit by Kodak personnel to the Troax factory in Kingswinford, West Midlands, the specification and build program was agreed. The enclosures consisted of Sigma single skin partitioning with solid, half & full glazed panels with areas of Lee Span double skin walk on ceiling. The project was completed within budget, and to the time scale established by Kodak utilizing a special “out of hours” program.
