“Elephant Parade” Fine Art Limited Edition 30” x 40”
Summers’ most recent mural project can be seen at Harrah’s Resort Southern California, located in Valley Center, northeast of Escondido. Titled Ballroom Dance, the image Summers selected emphasizes his desire to portray the happiness and positivity he sees in the world. The composition is an impressive 18’ x 25’ and stands along the wall at the very entrance to the resort. Painting on such a large scale presents its own challenges. Summers initially creates a sketch on paper and eventually produces a finished painting three to four feet in size. It is only once all the details have been worked out that he can begin to replicate the image in pencil over the entire expanse of the wall. Simply creating the outline and applying paint to the entire surface is a time-consuming and labor-intensive process. With a painting so large, every detail is also magnified before the viewer’s eyes, making it essential that every element has a definite purpose. With so many projects in the works, it is a great opportunity for collectors to acquire a new limited edition painting, Elephant Parade. Three elephants walk in single profile. The adults, unlike the younger elephant, immerse themselves in Technicolor. These majestic creatures

are among the few animals that exhibit mirror self- recognition and altruism. In fact, the elephant’s brain has a very complex structure, similar to that of humans, apes, and dolphins. A large hippocampus enables the link with emotion and memory to remain very strong throughout the animal’s life.
But with such a distinct memory, is it possible to accept change and transformation? Some may argue it becomes more difficult. Given the emotional spectrum of these animals, however, change becomes not only possible, it is necessary. In the painting, these creatures proudly celebrate change. The idea of a parade involves spectacle, showing pride and confidence. Change is difficult, but having the support of others can make things easier. This November 14 - 16, join Exclusive Collections in celebrating Michael Summers and his art. Summers, himself, is excited to be hosting an exhibition in his hometown of San Diego, the place where his art was first accepted into the community. As always, Summers’ show will be celebratory nature. Continually grateful for the dedication and support he receives from his collectors, Summers humbly dedicates his success to them.
