MICHAEL SUMMERS Paradigm Shift

November 14 - 16, 2014 EC Historic Gaslamp Gallery • RSVP to pr@ecgallery.com • (800) 204-0062 W

ith a growing reputation in the art world, Michael Summers has been able to introduce his work to an entirely new set of art lovers through the creation of large-scale public installations throughout Southern California, including Laguna Beach, Beverly Hills, Carlsbad Village, Harrah’s Resort in Valley Center, and Downtown San Diego. Summers’ popularity has been driven by the vastly positive reception to his imagery and message. Summers’ paintings have created dialogue. While he has a message and a story in mind, the imagery invites some to create their own meaning and significance based on personal experience. In the surrealist style, the subject matter can take on multiple meanings and even be used to emphasize the intrinsic subjectivity of human perception.

Seeing the beauty in everything is a gift that sets Michael Summers apart. While not all art need be as positive as that of Summers, it is refreshing to know that true art can be positive as well as sophisticated, insightful, and meaningful. Each composition tells a story, revealing a new idea. The rainbow of color embodies that revelation. Imagine being colorblind and then suddenly able to see the full color spectrum. This is how Summers changes his viewers’ perspective. It is as if one can now see the world as it is meant to be seen.
