Drain Center appoints new Trading Director


Ben Hills has been appointed Trading Director of Drain Center, it has been announced. A member of Drain Center’s senior


management team, Ben will report to Rob Gladwin, Managing Director, Plumb Center, Parts Center, William Wilson, bcg, Drain Center and Integrated Services. Ben has a wealth of experience in national commercial trading roles for a variety of B2B and retail businesses. Ben said: “I am thrilled to be joining Drain Center at this exciting time. I am looking forward to working with the whole team in developing and creating opportunities that will help grow the business. The Drain Center team has great experience along with an impressive product range which can offer its customers huge benefits. It's a great foundation I look forward to continue building on.” Rob Gladwin said: “Drain Center continues to be an exciting business with huge potential for growth and I am confident that Ben’s appointment will ensure the business continues to grow and flourish, cementing its position as a market leader.” Ben joined the business on the 23 June 2014.

University of Portsmouth appoints Director of Estates and Campus Services The University of


Portsmouth’s Vice-Chancellor, Professor Graham Galbraith, is delighted to announce the appointment of a new Director of Estates and Campus Services, Fiona Bell, who will join the University in mid-August.


David Payne to retire as Fotolec CEO


After 32 years with Fotolec Technologies, David Payne has announced his retirement from the company, with effect from June 30, 2014. David who has held the position of Chairman and CEO for the past 14 years has steered the business to the pre-eminent position it now enjoys as Europe’s leading manufacturer and supplier of fragment retention coatings for lamps. David’s brother Chris Payne will succeed him as Chairman and CEO of this long and well established business, to continue traditional family leadership and association with the Fotolec name.


Chris has been with Fotolec Technologies since leaving college and is well versed in the technology and the marketing of its products, where he has successfully created the company’s market leading GlassGuard® brand, now widely recognised throughout Europe. David will be available for consultation and will help to


provide a seamless handover in the successful operation of the business over the next few months. In taking up his new role, Chris commented that he is looking forward to leading the company and building upon the winning formula that he and his brother have established over many years after their father Reg retired. Chris wished his brother all success and happiness for the


future and thanked him for the contribution he has made over a considerable number of years.


This important appointment for the University comes at a very exciting time as the University develops its long term plans for its estate. Fiona will bring a wealth of experience to the role and


will play a significant part in helping to develop a campus for the future. Fiona brings vast experience of large scale capital project


delivery and estate management in the HE and heritage sectors. She has held senior level estates roles, firstly at the University of St Andrews culminating in a position as Director of Estates and latterly as Director of Estates and Facilities Management for National Museums Scotland, where she successfully delivered the £47m redevelopment and refurbishment of The Royal Museum. She is currently working at Cumbria County Council as a senior manager in the Capital Programme and Projects Team and has significant experience in successful team leadership and a strong operational estates background. Fiona, who is originally from Fife, said that she is incredibly


excited at the prospect of taking up her new role at Portsmouth. “This is a fantastic opportunity to be a part of a dynamic


University and to lead a team in the development of a master plan for the entire campus. Everything I’ve heard about Portsmouth points to a vibrant, energetic city which is reflected in its University and I’m very much looking forward to living and working here.”
