IT MAY HAVE got off to a slow start, but the successor to the best-selling handheld of all time has more than made up for it. Nintendo 3DS now boasts one of the strongest software libraries available today, with a slew of hits from Mario, Pokémon and The Legend of Zelda propelling its sales ahead of Xbox 360 and PS3 to make it the biggest selling games device of 2013.
Nintendo has also been ramping up its efforts in the download space with the 3DS eShop receiving new titles every week, and even introducing a section for indie games to showcase new developers. The platform holder is also looking at bringing Unity support to the handheld, opening the device to studios that already specialise in the widely-used tech.
