CoPEEK, although, they are not, as might be assumed, copolymers. Bieglo offers injection moulding grades with MFIs ranging from 21 to 125. Bieglo highlights a CoPEEK-based compound,

developed and produced in Germany, which contains chemically bonded PTFE to provide improved mechani- cal and tribological properties. It is targeting bearings, bushings, compressors and valves. The compound has a coefficient of friction of 0.18 and a wear coefficient of 2.1x10-6

(ISO 7148-2).

dispenser. Local temperatures of around 200°C are generated in this application and gears in PPS were said to be wearing out inside two months. “PEK with solid lubricants has been working well in the applica- tion for the past six months without wear related failures,” a Gharda spokesperson says. There are at least four PEEK producers in China, among them Evonik’s joint venture with Jida New Materials and Panjin Zhongrun High Performance Polymers, which uses Germany-based Bieglo as its distributor in Europe.
