Investing in Class Rings

In April, thousands of students at Texas A&M Univ., College Station, Texas, received their

“Aggie Rings,” marking the 125th year of the traditional distribution of class rings to gradu- ates. Since 1997, Balfour Co. has produced every Aggie Ring in its Austin, Texas, facility.

Tis year’s 4,327 rings were produced in gold via investment casting. After the rings were washed and sandblasted, they were “pebbled” by craftsmen who produce a unique design on each ring’s underside. Once each recipient’s name is engraved on the inside of the ring, the shipment is sent to the school.
