Bremen Hosts Tour Bremen Castings Inc. (BCI), Bre-


men, Ind., recently celebrated its 75th year in business with a May 13 open house for the public. Visitors toured the iron foundry, on-site health clinic and machining facility. Te fourth- generation metalcaster produces gray and ductile iron castings for a variety of markets including agricultural, heavy truck, defense and mining. “It is crucial for everyone to be a team member and an active citizen within our communities, so we strive to cast each employee into a valuable and responsible individual,” said James (JB) Brown, president of Bremen Castings. Founded in 1939, BCI has grown


from its original 800-sq.-ft. building to its current footprint of 125,000 sq. ft. and employs more than 200 people. Te company has won numerous awards for safety, technology and ecofriendly manufacturing using 92% recycled fer- rous material. In April, BCI achieved 1.5 million hours without a lost-time incident.


Stratasys Adds Additive Capabilities Through Acquisitions Stratasys Ltd., Minneapolis and


Rehovot, Israel, a global provider of 3D printing and additive manufactur- ing solutions, has entered into definitive agreements to acquire two privately-held companies, Solid Concepts Inc., Valencia, Calif., and Harvest Technologies, Belton, Texas. Te transactions are expected to be completed this year. Solid Concepts is the largest inde- pendent additive manufacturing service bureau in North America and a fast- growing partner to RedEye, Stratasys’ existing digital manufacturing service business. Stratasys plans to combine Solid Concepts and Harvest Technologies with RedEye to establish one additive manu- facturing services business unit. Joe Alli- son, president of Solid Concepts, will join the Stratasys management team and lead the combined parts business, supported by the management teams of Solid Concepts, Harvest Technologies, and RedEye.
