Basketball. The men posted a 16-10 overall and 10-6 conference record, earning a berth in the Liberty League playoffs for the fifth straight year. They were edged out by Vassar in the semi - finals. Aldin Medunjanin ’16 was second in the league in assists and made the all-league first team; Tanner Brooks ’16, third in steals and fourth in assists, made the Liberty second team. Erik Sanders ’16 and Connor Merrill ’15 re- ceived honorable mentions. The women went 11-14 overall and 6-10 in confer- ence play. Angela Botiba ’15 ranked second in the league in rebounds per game (11.0) and field goal percent- age (.496), earning Liberty second-team honors, Jordyn Wartts ’14 was an honorable mention, and Migle Vilunaite ’17 made the all-rookie team. Ice hockey. Battling hard in 10 overtime games, the team finished at 7-12-7, mak- ing the ECAC East quarterfinals, where it lost to top-seed Norwich. Forward An- thony Bird ’17 and goalie Jack McDonald ’17 made the conference all-rookie team, and 14 players went all-academic. Riding. Taking first place at three Skid- more shows and at Hartwick and Mor- risville State, the unbeaten Thorough- breds qualified 11 riders for regionals. At the Zone 2 finals they finished second— just behind St. Lawrence, with whom Skidmore shared last year’s IHSA na- tional championship. Both teams earned a berth to defend their title at this year’s nationals in May. Swimming and diving. Breaking 11 Skid- more records at the UNYSCSA champi- onship meet, the Skidmore men finished 11th and the women 12th. Nick Sauer- brunn ’15 set a school record with the team’s highest finish, 11th place in the 1650-yard free. Catherine King ’15 was the program’s first-ever winner at the Liberty League championships, taking the 50-yard free with a time of 24.08.
