problems using blended thermal and digital imagery. They will display and save images as full visual, full infrared, or in three blended modes (25, 50, and 75 percent). Markers pinpoint hot and cold spots indicating the hottest temperature with a red box and the coldest with a blue box. A temperature reading is provided at the centre point.

luke, the global leader in portable electronic test and measurement technology, has introduced the new Fluke VT04A Visual Infrared Thermometer

- a lower-priced version of the Fluke VT04 with a manufacturer’s recommended price of £495. While including all the features of the high-end VT04, it is powered by AA batteries offering flexibility to technicians who may wish to replace batteries in the field.

The Fluke VT04A Visual Infrared (IR) Thermometer is a troubleshooting tool

with an infrared heat map which offers high resolution as well as temperature alarms and time-lapse features. The VT04A comes with updated firmware that extends battery life by offering three screen brightness levels, automatic screen dimming after a set period with instantaneous override, a configurable

reading is not enough and a high-resolution thermal image is more than users need: the one tool combines the visual insight of a thermal imager, the visual images of a digital camera, and the point-and-shoot convenience of an IR thermometer. Using a Fluke Visual IR Thermometer is far faster for conducting inspections of electrical, industrial, HVAC/R and automotive applications than an infrared thermometer, which requires multiple readings and manually recorded results.

Compared to the VT02, the Fluke VT04A and VT04 offer a wider 28°x28°

field of view for improved scanning and up-close evaluation and four times sharper images. They also feature a Hi/Lo temperature alarm which enables hot spots to be found in seconds, and time-lapse functionality which automatically monitors equipment over time or automatically captures images after an alarm has been triggered. Images are saved to a micro-SD card, eliminating the need to write down single or multiple measurements.

Affordable, compact, and intuitive, the Fluke Visual Infrared Thermometers

operate with focus-free simplicity, expanding the user base from senior to junior technicians and broadening the applications for in-house staff as well as creating new business opportunities for service contractors. Images can be imported into SmartView® analysis and reporting software, which is included, to produce professional reports that document problems detected, or repairs made, for management and customer review.

Eliminate paper labels to pick, pack and dispatch faster

the bag, including the PS 125™ desktop bagger which caters to low to medium volume applications. Bagging up to speeds of 15 bags per minute, the PS 125 OneStep will speed up the bagging process while still retaining high levels of quality. The in-line printer is capable of putting addresses, logos, barcodes and tracking information directly on the bag, producing a more professional finished product. “Getting rid of paper labels takes a step out of the packing process,” explains Automated Packaging Systems Martin Richards, “You can save the cost of the label itself, but more importantly you’ll save the time it takes to stick it on. There are other less obvious benefits too, like a better looking product free of wonky labels, and a pack that’s much more easily recycled after use.” The Autobag range of bagging systems is ideal for applications such as hardware, DIY products and mail order, speeding up the packaging process.

for the annual inspection of oxy-fuel gas welding equipment and non-welding gas systems. Course registration is now underway at info@esab.co.uk. The ESAB / City & Guilds Accredited Gas Inspectors courses focus on the safety aspects of using oxy-fuel welding gases. In addition, various aspects of industrial gas safety for non-welding gas systems are covered. These two-day courses provide safety training leading to the internationally recognised City & Guilds qualification. Courses incorporate both classroom and practical sessions. Day 1 theory certification courses present such topics as health and safety legislation; risk assessments and method statements; codes of practice and standards BE EN ISO as applied to industrial gases; the properties, applications and safety of industrial gases; process equipment, and introduction to inspections and reporting. Day 2 sessions focus entirely on practical application, including detailed fault finding. Candidates are taught how to fully test an oxy-fuel gas station and pass it off for safe use. Instruction is also provided on risk assessment of stations in accordance with current legal requirements.
