Technoset benefits from traceability advantages of Datatrack
thanks to PSL DataTrack's Process Layout module. Not only can Technoset underline traceability as a key element of the services it provides, but also production and administration standards are continuously set at the highest possible level. Before installing Datatrack, Technoset operated a manual based production administration system with inherent disadvantages such as too many paper based records and lack of a back-up system. Datatrack helps achieve complete production traceability and accumulates data automatically as different process transactions are carried out. It records and reports on specific single and multiple material batch control data and builds a complete history of processes associated with components and assemblies. Datatrack works together with Technoset's AS9100 auditors. The Process Layout module also promotes discipline in Technoset's manufacturing process. It confirms the engineering definition of the component to be manufactured. It provides drawing and issue number control, confirms the requirements of the works order.

Latest Developments in Head Protection
requirements of today’s workers. By introducing a new ratchet size adjustment option across the entire safety helmet range, workers can now enjoy greater comfort, stability and safety. Designed with wearer functionality in mind, the new ratchet safeguards against accidental adjustment; with its push and turn operation ensuring that loss of tension cannot occur. With practicality a fundamental requirement, the new design can be easily adjusted with one hand, without removing the helmet from the head. The wearer also has the ability to easily tighten or losen the helmet for improved comfort or stability as and when the head expands and contracts, usually during periods of high intensity work. Offering a wide size adjustment of between 50-64cm, the new ratchet design also permits easy operation with gloved hands.

Surface
Microphone for R&D Testing
n East Midlands bakery has invested in a centralised vacuum cleaning system designed and manufactured by market leaders BVC.
The primary reason for the investment was the need to clean up relatively inaccessible areas such as silo penthouses and internal silo tops/bottoms. The method of centralised collection using a static machine prevents potential health and safety issues of machines being moved by personnel up and down vertical cat ladders. The BVC Centurion model Ti80 industrial vacuum cleaner, powered by a 15 kW motor, is located remotely. There is 198 metres of pipe work and fittings installed, interconnecting 18 hose connection points, serving a variety of locations as requested by the customer. Displaced air is filtered within the BVC ‘clear flow’ filtration system and particles collected within an easily removable 80 litre bin at the base of the filter chamber.

research and test engineers or acoustic consultants taking measurements in spaces where traditional microphones won't fit or outdoor environments and wind tunnels, where the effects of wind noise on measurements is a concern. Designed using computational fluid dynamics (CFD) modeling, the new model is a low profile microphone and surface mount pad that greatly reduces the impact of undesired air pressure on the microphone during the measurement process. Model 130B40 is an all-in- one, water and dust resistant prepolarised (0V) unit that runs off ICP® power or equivalent constant current power supply and connects via a 10-32 microdot connector. A key feature of the 130B40 microphone is its maximum dynamic range of 142dB at 3% distortion (150dB before clipping). The sensitivity is 8.5mV/Pa with a low noise floor rating of 32dBA. TEDS (Transducer Electronic Data Sheets) v1.0 is an included feature, which enables the test engineer to locate a specific microphone within a large group. TEDS also stores useful calibration and manufacturer data.
