Siemens has updated its empty system cubicle enclosure portfolio with the new modular system Sivacon sicube 8MF. A screwed frame forms the basis for the modular system, and is available in 60 model sizes. The frame can be expanded with freely selectable enclosures, expansion components and accessories. The new system cubicles facilitate customised layouts for specific applications e.g. for use in wind turbines, rail applications, the oil and gas sector, or automotive production facilities. Control and switchgear cabinet engineers can decide whether they wish to mount individual parts in-house, or have the system cubicles mounted by Siemens according to specifications.
COPING WITH EXTREMES
Having included a new NEMA 4/4x protection category, Rittal’s SE 8 enclosure range is now fit for extreme conditions. The SE 8 enclosure type has UL, cUL and NEMA 12 (IP55 equivalent) approvals as standard features, with protection class NEMA 12 as the default. With the optional NEMA 4 (for steel
enclosures) and NEMA 4x classifications (for stainless steel ones), which roughly correspond to IP66, the enclosures offer increased defence against wind driven dust, rain, splashed water and water jets, as well as from damage caused by external ice formation. Electrical and electronic equipment within the enclosure is protected and can also be used in extreme applications, thanks to the improved dust and water protection. To achieve NEMA 4/4x classification
the door and rear panel have been reinforced with a tubular door frame, integrated through a one piece floor plate with an all-round seal in the base area of the enclosure.

electronic components e.g. for machine and production facility controlling and are used in virtually all industry sectors. The new Sivacon sicube 8MF series can be modified to custom specifications and can be ordered with coatings in custom or function colours, cut-outs in enclosure parts, galvanised enclosures, enclosures in custom sizes, or elements with custom sheet metal thicknesses. A mechanical post-processing or coating is therefore no longer required - the cubicles are ready for use at delivery. Siemens customers can optionally have made to measure cubicles designed for them i.e. with custom dimensions or with special metal fittings.
Sivacon sicube 8MF series come with a 2.5mm material thickness. All components comply with relevant standards and norms for quality, environmental and work safety management. Additional certifications for specific applications can be provided on request.
