Thanks for the memories I got the magazines I ordered today. Thank you so much! One of them brought me some special memories. Pictured on the cover of the December 1993 issue was the Grandson Bipe by Ellis Grumer. I didn't know Ellis at the time it was pub- lished, but he lived about a mile from me. A few years later we became best of friends. I spent lots of time at his house building to gether. He used the Grandson as the basis for an even smaller electric version that he must have built five or six of as gifts for friends.

ANDY KUNZ via e-mail

Andy, thank you for the memories as well, inspired by your mention of Ellis Grumer’s Grandson Bipe. I was immediately remind- ed of our correspondence back in the fall of 2008 when you were finishing the covering on his last model, my Blue Flash. Then as now, it is an honor to have designed the last project borne of his gifted hands. – THAYER

Another perspective Nice article about the NEAT Fair in the February issue. For another perspective, go to Google Maps, search for Shinhopple, NY, scroll down slightly to Peaceful Valley Campsite, click on Earth, zoom in and enjoy! I don’t know if it’s 2013 or not. I wish

Google would post the date of photography on the screen.

BARNEY HEITKOTTER Fresno, CA

Barney, that surely is a unique angle on

the NEAT Fair! Based on the vehicles and tents pictured, and attendees’ schedules, that image on Google Maps/Earth has been dated to the Wednesday afternoon of NEAT 2012. – THAYER
