Prescott to head TMAIT
The Texas Medical Association Insurance Trust (TMAIT) Board of Trustees has named James W. Prescott administrator of TMAIT and president of TMAIT Finan- cial Services, Inc. (TFSI). Created and exclusively endorsed by TMA in 1955, TMAIT helps physicians, their families, and their employees get the insurance coverage they need. In his new position, Mr. Prescott will
oversee and direct the operations of TMAIT and TFSI. This includes devel- oping marketing strategies, managing product research and development, and overseeing the new accounts, customer relations, and billing departments. This is a promotion for Mr. Prescott, who has been associate administrator of TMAIT and secretary/treasurer since 2000. He originally served as director of marketing in 1991. He replaces Larry G. Stein, who retired in December 2013 af- ter 29 years of service as administrator of TMAIT and president of TFSI. Mr. Prescott received his bachelor of science degree in economics from Texas A&M University in 1978. He completed the requirements for the Society of Cer- tified Insurance Counselors designation in 1984 and has completed numerous other insurance and financial certifica- tions over his career.
