WINTER WARM UP WITH NSGRA

The weather has made outdoor activities a bit too cold for many. However, that doesn't limit indoor activities. In fact, I just handed over another personal check to my personal trainer, Bobby, who meets with me at that nice, warm, Crossfit South Metro (CFSM) gym in Burnsville. It's hard to believe that another year – with Bobby as my trainer – has started. Time goes by so fast. However, I'm happy with the progress I am making at the gym and Bobby is a very good trainer/coach at CFSM. By the way, you may have seen Bobby working alongside the bartenders at The Saloon in Minneapolis in the evenings. Stop by the The Saloon and say hello. www.crossfitsouthmetro.com

Also at The Saloon is our North Star Gay Rodeo Association (NSGRA) Country Line Dance. There is a cover charge of $5.00 for the dancing, but NSGRA members get in free. Also, there's an optional beer/soda bust for an additional $5.00. The next dance will be held on Saturday, February 22, from 7 to 10 PM. www.saloonmn.com

For those of you that would like to learn to line dance, 2-Step MSP holds free line dancing lessons weekly at Lee's Liquor Lounge, 101 Glenwood Avenue, Minneapolis. It is country dancing for the GLBT and friends community. They meet on Sunday evenings at 6:00 PM. Lessons are followed by open dancing from 7 to 10 PM. I've been to Lee's, myself, and everyone has a lot of fun. The lesson for Sunday, February 16, is for a line dance known as “Waltz Across Texas.” www.2stepmsp.org

For early risers, there is the Quorum Coffee. Quorum is an affiliate member of the National Gay & Lesbian Chamber of Commerce. The next Quorum Coffee will be held at Twin Cities Leather & Latte, 2717 Hennepin Avenue South, Minneapolis, Friday, February 14, from 7:30 to 9:00 AM. The event is hosted by the member businesses and is free to attend, but please RSVP so that Quorum can reserve enough space. Quorum is a great place to network and share news about your business. Be sure to bring plenty of your business cards to hand out. I do. www.twincitiesquorum.com
