Penn State’s All-American goalie reveals his dream to score even just one goal
Who is your favorite athlete? Philadelphia Eagles running back LeSean McCoy. Every time he touches the ball, it is exciting to see what he is going to do.
What’s one thing that always puts you in a good mood?
Music. I like all genres: techno, rock and roll, country and rap.
What’s one thing lacrosse really needs?
A shot clock. High school through college should have a 60-second clock that starts when you cross the midline so the games keep moving.
If you could meet anyone, dead or alive, who would it be? Adam Sandler. I think all his movies are hilarious, “Happy Gilmore” and “Billy Madison” being my top two.
What’s the most adventurous thing you’ve ever done? I went cliff diving on vacation in Mexico. My next thing to do is skydive.
Do you have any pregame rituals? I like to get to the locker room well in advance to stretch and listen to a specific playlist on my iPod. “Little Lion Man” by Mumford and Sons and “Tung (Original Mix)” by Deniz Koyu are on there. I like to be relaxed and clear my head to focus on the task at hand.
What’s on your lacrosse bucket list? To win a national championship. The one other thing is to score a goal. Being a goalie I don’t get the glory of scoring a goal.
What is your major at Penn State? Business management. I wanted a business major that would relate to coaching and managing people.
What has been your favorite class in college? Finance 408. It was about financial institutions and financial markets.
Overtime (from North Carolina women’s midfielder Brittney Coppa) What’s the first thing you would do with your money if you won the lottery?
Invest. Most people would spend money if they won the lottery. I would invest the money and put some into a savings account.
Double Overtime (from Drew Duffy, Virginia Beach, Va.) If you pick any other position to play what would it be? Attack. I started playing lacrosse as an attackman. Then I switched to goalie. I miss being able to beat a defenseman and score a goal.
