With people at the heart of the engagement and listening process it was extremely important to understand how the Finning and Hope Construction Materials teams would work together, to achieve the ongoing productivity targets.
We then looked at the overall operational process to optimise productivity. Thanks to new GPS and VIMS (Vital Information Monitoring System) technology, which is now available on Caterpillar quarry equipment, we were able to show Hope Construction Materials how the Finsight condition monitoring team could monitor and report on the performance of every piece of plant on the fleet.
With the Finsight team made up of trained engineers that interact with our service and maintenance team based out of our local Chesterfield branch, we were able to show how a process involving Finsight could deliver higher productivity and uptime.
When focusing on productivity it is important to understand that the most important people in the quarrying process are the plant operators. Over the last five years Eco-Drive™ operator training has helped plant operators and managers make significant fuel and productivity enhancements.
So when the equipment solution was developed for Hope Construction Materials we designed a bespoke Eco-Drive training programme onsite, using the new equipment to optimise the whole process.
By taking this integrated approach Hope Construction Materials now has a totally optimised solution that will deliver high levels of productivity now and into the future, all at the right price. With dramatic fuel savings already making a big impact and operators enjoying the new equipment, site optimisation is already paying dividends.
