FROM THE EDITOR I

Footwear Industry Awards

’m very pleased to report that Footwear Today Magazine has received a fantastic response from the trade to the Annual Footwear Industry Awards. Our loyal readers have played an active

part, nominating and voting for those they believe are the deserving few, so that only the best win these awards.

The standard of entries, as ever, is extremely high and it looks to

be a nail biting event for each of the finalists. I would like to see as many members of the trade as possible join with us in celebrating the industry’s success on the night.

The Footwear Industry Awards event, now in its third year,

promises to be an exciting evening, held on the first night of the Moda show, at a luxury venue, the Motorcycle Museum, close to Birmingham NEC.

I look forward to welcoming you to the event. The dress code for

the evening is ‘lounge suit’. But, it’s purely a matter of personal choice, many of us will be favouring formal dress, I’ll be wearing my tiara, of course…only kidding!!

It’s the show season this month, with PURE at London Olympia,

closely followed by MODA. We bring you previews of the major footwear shows, including Moda and the Kensington Shoe Event, as well as a bevy of beautiful boots for the ladies in this months Editor’s Choice (read more on pages 24-27). And, don’t miss our popular regular editorials, including Best Sellers, Footwear Focus Road Test and Retailer Of The Month. This month we profile independent footwear retailer Andrea Afrifa of Stampede, Tunbridge Wells, Kent.

Both myself and the team at Footwear Today will look forward to

seeing you at the MODA show at the NEC Birmingham from 16-18th February, look out for Stand T34. I’ll be waiting to meet and greet our readers, so do come along and introduce yourself and tell me what you’d like to read about in Footwear Today in 2014!

Kind regards,

Cheryl Taylor, Editor
