Tom Randall and Pete Whittaker
In 2009, The Wideboyz (Tom Randall &
Pete Whittaker) came up with a plan to climb the world’s hardest offwidth crack in America. They had little experience and no
real track record of wide crack climbing, but within two years they’d accomplished their goal – through a mixture of unique training devices, gruelling workout regimes and shear bloody mindedness.
Last year the pair decided to slim the size
down from the widest cracks in the world to the thinnest, and Tom and Pete are here to take you on a tour of the world’s hardest,
from England to Italy to Sweden and finally Canada. Tune in to hear their motivations and adventures encountered along the way to their final showdown in Canada and the Curse of the Cobra. Friday and Saturday
18 Alan Hinkes
The man needs very little introduction – Alan Hinkes is one of a very small and very
exclusive group of people who’ve climbed all 14 8,000m mountains on Earth, and was the first Brit to do so. He has tales to tell from the top of the world that are both poignant and humorous, inspiring and entertaining. And when he’s not hanging out in the ‘death zone’, as these peaks are known, he’s happy yomping around his home stomping ground of North Yorkshire and climbing local rocks. Friday and Saturday
