TRIBUTES GEORGE BLACK 1942 – 2013

after undergoing chemotherapy in Dundee. However, in April this year doctors diagnosed myelodysplastic syndrome (MDS), a form of cancer affecting the bone marrow, and George was informed that he had less than two years to survive.
George did not consider himself defeated and with this news and
opportunity to make great efforts locally in raising awareness and support for the charity Marie Curie. George was well known within the local Dundee, Perth and Angus branch having been a drummer with various pipe bands in the area since an at the age of 16, George won the Boys Brigade solo drumming championships and thereafter Papermill Pipe Band where his father George Snr. was lead drummer.
