LORRIE BELL NAMED ROCKWELL COLLINS VOLUN- TEER OF THE YEAR

Lorrie Bell, a certifi ed inspector for the ARC-190 radio program, has been named the Rockwell Collins 2013 Volunteer of the Year for her work on behalf of children with mental health issues, and men and women serving in the U.S. military. For the past ten years, Bell has been a devoted volunteer

for Tanager Place, a nonprofi t organization in Cedar Rapids, IA that provides treatment for children with social and mental health diagnoses. She works to raise funds so every child receives items for the winter such as scarves, hats and mittens, and plays an important role in organizing the nonprofi t organization’s annual holiday party for the children it serves. Additionally, Bell spends her time away from work hand-crafting greeting cards that are distributed to men and women serving in the U.S. military through Operation Write Home. “I volunteer for these organizations because of the happiness I can help bring to the children at Tanager Place and to the men and woman serving in the military,” said Bell. As part of Bell’s recognition, Rockwell Collins will be making a $1,000 donation in her honor to Tanager Place.
