Welcome to the World Future Energy Summit


As governments and private sector firms around the globe reaffirm their commitment to supporting large-scale clean energy initiatives, the seventh edition of the world’s foremost future energy event is set to be a game-changer.


Global leaders, policy makers, technology innovators and thought shapers will gather at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC) from 20-22 January 2014 as the World Future Energy Summit (WFES) and exhibition returns to the UAE capital for its seventh edition as sustainable energy solutions become an agenda-leading focus for governments around the world.


An acknowledged global leader in energy, the emirate of Abu Dhabi has made significant investment and inroads into becoming an international renewable and sustainable energy powerhouse, as it looks to develop hydrocarbon alternatives that will benefit not only the region but the world.


The anchor event for Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week (ADSW), the largest gathering on


sustainability in the region which runs from 18- 25 January 2014 and which will welcome more than 30,000 participants from 150 countries, the three-day WFES conference will open up the floor for practical discussion on shaping the future of renewable energy and the critical path needed for global commitment and investment in future energy projects. Held under the patronage of HH General Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, and hosted by Masdar, WFES is the world’s foremost event dedicated to renewable energies, energy efficiency and clean technologies.


In addition to the high profile conference, the line-up for 2014 once again features an


international exhibition as well as the popular Project & Finance Village, a new Sustainable Living Expo, the Tech Talk series and exciting activities for the next generation of sustainability leaders through the dedicated student programme.


A total of 17 national pavilions will showcase each country’s innovations from Belgium, Canada, China, France, Germany, Italy and Japan to Kazakhstan, Norway, Singapore, South Africa, South Korea, Sweden, Switzerland, the UK and USA.

The International Water Summit provides a global platform for promoting water sustainability in arid regions and will bring together world leaders, field experts, academia luminaries and business innovators to foster innovation, best practice and collaboration to offer tangible solutions to the pressing issue of water scarcity.
