Stritch Gala honorees
The Stritch School of Medicine held its 63rd Stritch Annual Awards Dinner on Nov. 16, 2013, at the Field Museum in Chicago. Richard L. Gamelli, MD, FACS, received the Stritch Medal, the school’s highest honor, and the Sword of Loyola was bestowed upon Paul Farmer, MD, PhD, co-founder of the global health organization Partners In Health. Both men were lauded for their leader- ship in the medical community, excellence in providing compassionate medi- cal care, and dedication to bettering our world through medicine.

Daniel M. Hochbaum (JD ’12) was selected as this year’s recipient of the CBF’s Kimball R. Anderson and Karen Gatsis Anderson Public Interest Law Fellowship. The award was presented at the CBA and CBF 15th Annual Pro Bono and Public Service Awards Luncheon in July 2013.

advisor, CLU, was honored by Northwestern Mutual in its 2013 Forum group, which recognizes individuals for an outstanding year of helping clients achieve financial security. D’Aquila is affiliated with the McTigue Financial Group based in Chicago. This is the first time that D’Aquila received the honor.

Jill Schaefer (BS ’13, BSW ’13) embarked on a year of full-time service with Jesuit Volunteer Corps Northwest. Schaefer is serving at Catholic Family & Child Services in Yakima, Washington. She is a capacity-builder of employment skills for youth ages 15–23 from the foster care system. She is excited to become a part of the Yakima community and to connect with the youth.
